Senior Accountant

Location: Central New Jersey - Somerville, NJ area Compensation: Up to $100,000, depending on experience Industry: Manufacturing Employment Type: Full-Time A well-established manufacturing organization in the Somerville , NJ area is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join its accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, working with the general ledger, analyzing financial information, and partnering with various areas of the business. Responsibilities Manage and maintain general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP. Prepare and post journal entries and perform account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Analyze financial results, identify variances, and provide meaningful explanations. Support financial reporting and preparation of financial statements. Perform detailed account analysis and research discrepancies. Work closely with internal departments to resolve accounting and reconciliation issues. Review accounting work for accuracy and completeness and provide guidance to junior staff as needed. Assist with process improvements and other accounting projects. Maintain a high level of accuracy and confidentiality while managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience. Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting. Manufacturing or cost accounting experience preferred. Advanced Excel skills, including experience with formulas, data analysis, and reporting. Experience working with an ERP system; Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred. Strong analytical, problem-solving, reconciliation, and organizational skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and accuracy. CPA or CPA-track experience is a plus. Previous experience supervising or reviewing the work of accounting staff is preferred. Why Consider This Opportunity?
