About the Role
The Company is seeking an Associate General Counsel for Litigation to join its dynamic legal team. The successful candidate will be a key leader in managing the company's litigation and disputes portfolio, which includes a range of complex commercial, consumer, and regulatory matters. This role involves developing and executing case strategies, coordinating with external law firms, and providing practical and timely legal advice to internal stakeholders. The Associate General Counsel will also be responsible for overseeing all phases of litigation, from initial assessment to resolution, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks. Applicants for this role at the company should have a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school, with at least 6 years' of post-law-school experience, including a significant background in handling complex litigation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of federal and state civil litigation processes and be adept at managing litigation budgets and legal spend. Experience in a highly regulated industry, such as financial services, fintech, or technology, is required, with a preference for those familiar with consumer disputes, class actions, and regulatory litigation. The role demands excellent communication skills, strong judgment, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority matters effectively. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in the development and maintenance of scalable litigation processes and will be expected to coach and develop legal team members as needed.
