Direct Support Professional

Direct Support Professional Provide skilled support to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a residential setting, helping them achieve independent living and community participation. Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities Educate clients on personal hygiene, cooking, grocery shopping, cleaning, and other activities of daily living. Explore community businesses and social activities, supporting employment, household, and personal goals. Collaborate with team members to plan and advocate for clients’ services and goals. Assist with dressing, bathing, personal hygiene, house cleaning, laundry, medication administration, and basic health care (temperature, pulse, BP). Help clients purchase groceries, prepare meals, and maintain personal supplies and inventory. Respond to emergencies and maintain safety protocols. Document observations and progress for each client, following center and legal requirements. Support clients’ participation in meaningful vocational, domestic, and leisure activities. Assist in orienting and training new employees as required. Minimum Qualifications Minimum age of 18 years. High‑school diploma or equivalent. Pass required training: CPR, First Aid, Medication Administration (16‑hour course), MANDT System Workshop (10‑hour course), OSHA health and safety, Abuse & Neglect, Electronic Documentation. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record; ability to obtain a class E license if required for Arc vehicles. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform required tasks. Strong communication skills, judgment, discretion, and crisis‑intervention knowledge. Willingness to uphold the Arc of the Ozarks mission, values, and confidentiality standards.
