ParamedicLancaster County is a county-based ALS emergency medical service. Our current shift runs on a 24/48 schedule. In January we will begin integrating into a 24/72 schedule. We have 8 stations and run 9 ALS units, 2 QRV's, and 4 12-Hour units. Our annual call volume runs over 20,300 calls. We offer State benefits including state retirement.Examples Of DutiesThe Paramedic works within a family-oriented environment to deliver emergency care to the citizens and visitors of Lancaster County. As a Paramedic, you will work alongside other healthcare providers in the provision of Advanced Life Support (ALS) and customer service-focused care.Typical QualificationsResponsibilities & Scope Of Work:Works as a team to successfully operate a single ambulance operation in the provision of Basic and Advanced Life Support services.Response, treatment, and transportation of patients in accordance with organizational policy, industry standards, and the provider's scope of practice.Compassionate care delivered with clinical excellence, and with customer service in mind.Project a professional image through positive community interactions, adherence to uniform standards, and customer service.Timely completion of patient care reports by end of shift.Completion of daily unit check sheets and assurance that equipment is on board and in working order and required quantities. Perform end of month check off sheets as well.Cleaning stations and units in accordance with policy.Qualifications:Successful completion of an accredited Paramedic programSouth Carolina/National Registry ParamedicBasic Life Support for Healthcare ProvidersAdvanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – or equivalentPre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)Advanced Medical Life Support (AMLS) - preferredNIMS 100, 200, 700, & 800EVOC/CEVOHAZMAT AwarenessValid Driver's License RecordPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift, push, pull, and lift using safe techniques.Sit, stand, walk, etc. for long periods of time within 24-hour shift.Ability to work in extreme temperatures as well as environmental conditions.Ability to successfully mitigate stressful situations with co-workers, other healthcare providers, patients, and the public.Must successfully pass drug Screen, criminal background and motor vehicle record.
