Pay Rate: $60 - $66/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Med/Surg RN to provide direct, patient-centered nursing care, including assessment, medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and post-operative care.

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License.

• Primary Source Verification required.

• Current AHA BLS certification.

• AHA ACLS certification required for Queens assignments.

• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg experience in a large acute care hospital setting.

• Most recent relevant experience must be within the past year.

• Strong physical assessment, medication administration, wound care, infection control, IV therapy, and post-operative care skills.

• Telemetry monitoring and patient education experience.

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited institution.

• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Provide direct bedside nursing care to pre- and post-surgical patients.

• Prepare, administer, and document prescribed medications.

• Perform wound care, dressing changes, catheter insertion, and IV initiation.

• Monitor and document vital signs and clinical measurements.

• Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment as required.

• Identify and report medication reactions or changes in patient condition.

• Provide post-operative care and ongoing patient monitoring.

• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning.

• Educate patients and families regarding procedures, medications, treatment plans, and post-operative care.

• Maintain accurate patient records and medical documentation.

• Follow nursing standards, infection-control procedures, and facility protocols.
