Boilermaker

Position Overview Journeyman-level Boilermaker – support the newly built Oxy Stratos facility in No Trees, TX. Key Responsibilities Assembles and disassembles, erects, and repairs boilers, tanks, vats, pressure vessels, exchangers, and heaters according to blueprint specifications. Non‑exempt role; reports to a Front‑Line Supervisor (Foreman) and performs duties according to specific procedures. Tasks include locating and marking reference points, rigging, aligning structures, hammers and flame‑cuts, bolting and installing components such as tubes, headers, frames, and process tower trays, and performing tests on assembled vessels. Functional Requirements Must be able to pass Background and Drug/Health Screen Checks, Craft Testing and Safety Council courses. NCCER highly preferred but not required. Must be available to work overtime and callouts as needed, schedule subject to change. Qualifications Four to Six years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level). Written pre‑employment qualification test. Post‑offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation. Job site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots, etc.). Safety equipment as required by the client (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, respirator, hearing protection, safety harness with lanyard, etc.). Demonstrated proficiency in construction tool use (i.e., grinders, oxy/acetylene torch). Rigging. National Certification preferred (may be required by client). Applicant/employee must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace. High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Involvement Climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level. Maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. Reaching in all directions. Handling and manipulating objects and materials. Coordinating the movements of eyes, hands, and fingers to operate tools and equipment. Lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead. Carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc. Standing, sitting, walking, pushing, bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting. Seeing with or without correction. Hearing with or without correction. Wearing respirator and other PPE. Stepstool use. Work in excessive heat, cold, and loud environment. Mental Involvement Follow set procedures and standards. Follow oral or written directions. Knowledge of federal, state and company standards and regulations. Ability to read and write. Ability to recognize and report safety hazards. Interpret written plans and blueprints; apply basic mathematical skills. Planning work and selecting proper tools. Comparing and understanding differences in size, shape, and form of lines, figures, and objects. Evaluating solid objects from drawings or diagrams using measurable standards. Communicate effectively with others. Work in a team. Learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, and complete tasks. Remain calm under pressure; manage time and expectations across multiple projects. Ensure consistent and compliant work. Work Environment Factors Location: industrial maintenance and construction sites. Mobility barriers: uneven ground level, obstructed pathways, work at low or high elevations, confined areas. Climatic/Environmental Conditions: outdoor climate; exposure to extreme heat or cold, excessive humidity, rain; noise from tools, machinery, equipment; potential exposure to chemical substances.
