Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Operating Room Registered Nurse (OR RN) for a contract assignment in Atlantic, Iowa. This role involves providing comprehensive perioperative nursing care to patients undergoing a variety of operative and invasive procedures within an acute care hospital setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering patient-centered care that addresses the psychological, socio-cultural, and educational needs of surgical patients and their support persons. This encompasses the entire surgical continuum, from pre-procedure preparation and education through the intraoperative phase, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care to individuals undergoing operative or invasive procedures.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients.
• Address the psychological, socio-cultural, and educational needs of surgical patients and their support persons.
• Provide patient and family education regarding surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Ensure patient safety and advocate for patient well-being throughout the surgical experience.
• Collaborate effectively with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to facilitate efficient and safe surgical outcomes.
• Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to all perioperative nursing standards and protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in an Operating Room (OR) setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to work on-site in Atlantic, Iowa.
