About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS (AHA) Must-Have: Great communication and time management skills Ability to read telemetry strips Description: Unit has 18 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 6:1. Common diagnoses include congestive heart failure, diabetes, pneumonia, and chronic kidney disease. Telemetry monitor technicians are present, but RNs must be able to read strips. Charge nurses and house supervisors are available for support. Patient care technicians are present with a staffing ratio of 12:1. The unit handles patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high flow oxygen. Scheduling is managed by the unit manager, and block scheduling cannot be guaranteed. Every other weekend work is required. Holiday work is also required. RNs may float to all medical/surgical units as necessary. Unit dress code is navy blue scrubs. Department orientation is provided and includes all medical/surgical telemetry. The cancellation policy allows the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts during the assignment.
