Oncology - Medical Oncology Physician

Job Title: Locum Physician - Oncology Summary:

Join a dedicated team as a Medical Hematologist/Oncologist in Redding, CA! This role is based in an Outpatient Chemotherapy and Infusion Center where the oncologist will provide vital outpatient chemotherapy and infusions. You will be the solo provider with support from a midlevel provider to ensure smooth patient flow. Responsibilities will include hospital consults and on-call duties, collaborating closely with ER physicians or hospitalists for admissions.

• Oversee all aspects of diagnosis, staging, precision medicine, symptom management, and treatment of hematology/oncology patients.
• Provide on-site MD oversight for the oncology/hematology clinic and infusion services, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.
• Administer various therapies including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, hormone therapy, and therapeutic phlebotomies.
• Handle patient consultations and maintain effective communication with nursing staff and administrative team.
• Manage patient flow in collaboration with the midlevel provider, clinic RN, and additional support staff.
• Participate in weekend call as scheduled and manage remote call duties for added flexibility.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Oncology or Hematology.
• Completion of a fellowship in Oncology or Hematology.
• Current California medical license.
• Valid DEA certification.
• ACLS certification (required only if requesting Moderate Sedation Privileges; PALS for pediatric patients is also necessary).
• Availability to work as per the posted schedule with specific dates provided.
