diesel repair industry, preferably with experience servicing emergency vehicles such as fire trucks, ambulances, rescue vehicles, and other specialty apparatus.You'll play a critical role in keeping our customers' fleets operating safely and reliably, directly supporting the emergency responders who protect their communities.This is an ideal opportunity for someone who:Enjoys working DOPerform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on emergency vehicles and specialty equipmentDiagnose and repair diesel engines, air brake systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and related vehicle componentsTroubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic software, meters, and testing equipmentPerform repairs and service at customer locations throughout Upstate New York, Vermont, and New HampshireRespond to emergency roadside service calls when neededCommunicate professionally with customers and provide updates regarding repairs and recommendationsMaintain accurate service and repair documentationWork safely and maintain a clean, organized service vehicleContinue developing your skills through company-provided training and hands-on experienceRepresent Hendrickson Fire Rescue professionally while working at customer locationsQUALIFICATIONSRequiredHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of diesel repair experiencePrevious experience as a diesel technician, heavy-duty truck technician, or emergency vehicle mechanicExperience diagnosing and repairing diesel engines and vehicle systemsAbility to use diagnostic software, meters, and other testing equipmentStrong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong verbal and written communication skillsProfessional customer-service skillsValid driver's license and clean driving recordAbility to work in varying weather conditionsAbility to lift, bend, climb, kneel, and work in confined or difficult-to-access areasPreferredExperience working on fire apparatus, ambulances, rescue vehicles, or other emergency vehiclesHeavy-duty truck repair experienceCDLTechnical school training or industry certificationsElectrical, hydraulic, and air brake diagnostic experienceExperience with mobile service or roadside repairASE or other relevant industry certificationsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENTThis position requires the ability to perform physically demanding work, including:Lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs.Standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around vehicles for extended periodsWorking in tight or confined areas of vehicles and equipmentFrequent use of hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instrumentsWorking in varying weather conditions
