Embedded Software Engineer II

Medtronic seeks an Embedded Software Engineer II in Lafayette, Colorado to develop embedded software for medical devices used in airway management. The role involves designing software architectures, integrating with hardware platforms, and supporting regulatory compliance across product lifecycles.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded software applications and features using C and C++ for medical device products
• Design and implement software architectures, frameworks, and reusable platform components across product lines
• Integrate software with hardware platforms and troubleshoot issues at hardware-software interfaces
• Create and maintain unit tests, integration tests, automated test scripts, and participate in code reviews
• Generate software development documentation and support verification, validation, and risk management activities

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science with 2+ years embedded software development experience
• Proficiency developing embedded software using C and C++
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and driver development
• Experience with version control and configuration management tools
• Ability to debug hardware-software integration issues using schematics and technical documentation
