Senior Electrical Engineer - Autonomous Vehicles

Energize Robotics are working exclusively with a venture-backed clean-tech hardware company building next-generation zero-emission autonomous vehicles . They’re looking for a Senior Powertrain Electrical Engineer to take ownership of the electric powertrain architecture behind a new class of high-efficiency autonomous vehicle. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who wants to build real hardware, solve complex high‑voltage challenges, and help shape a product moving from breakthrough launch into scalable production. What you’ll be doing You’ll lead the design and delivery of a safe, reliable electric powertrain for autonomous vehicles. Day to day, that means: Architecting HV powertrain systems from battery to motor Designing and integrating BMS, PDUs, charging, inverters and motors Working with vendors and contractors on custom components Creating schematics, PCB designs and electrical layouts Writing/reviewing embedded software in C/C++ Working with CAN, Ethernet, RS232 and J1939 Supporting testing, validation, certification and production readiness Mentoring engineers while remaining a strong individual contributor What we’re looking for Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical but will consider Mechanical) 4+ years’ experience in Electric powertrain design Strong knowledge of Li‑ion batteries, BMS, PDUs, charging standards, inverters and motors Embedded C/C++ experience Schematic, PCB and CAD design experience Experience with CAN, Ethernet, RS232, J1939 or similar protocols Knowledge of HV testing, safety, validation or certification standards Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced hardware environment Competitive base salary, PTO, sick time, 401(k), and 100% paid medical, dental and vision coverage for the employee.
