Acoustic Metamaterial Engineer

Mekko is a new startup building 3D-printed acoustic metamaterial liners that make drones and eVTOL aircraft quieter. We are solving genuinely unsolved problems at an extremely fast pace, and the work you do here will help enable the next generation of emerging technologies. The role This is a very hands-on role where you will own metamaterial design and testing end to end. Your designs will go from CAD to being tested in the span of a few days, and you will work directly with the founder. Responsibilities Design acoustic metamaterial structures (resonator arrays, coiled/labyrinthine absorbers, liners) Build, run, and refine acoustic measurements: impedance tube, anechoic chamber, prop-rig testing Print, post-process, and iterate on test articles Analyze measurement data and maintain our growing design-performance library Help define what \"validated\" means here: SOPs, calibration, repeatability Hands-on is non-negotiable. Nice to have Aeroacoustics, liner, or duct-acoustics exposure Details Full-time and part-time positions available (about 15 minutes from campus).
