Quality Control TechnicianThe Quality Control Technician performs hands-on quality assurance testing and inspection to ensure that electronic hardware and related products meet defined standards before they are delivered to customers. This role focuses on quality control, inspection, and the use of test equipment to verify product performance and integrity.ResponsibilitiesPerform quality control testing and inspection of electronic hardware products.Apply predefined network device configurations to switches, routers, firewalls, and related equipment.Execute automated test scripts and manual test scripts to validate product functionality.Conduct mechanical inspections to identify defects or nonconformities.Verify manifests and packing lists against actual product contents to ensure accuracy.Update and refine manual test scripts as needed to reflect current processes and requirements.Report defects, issues, and nonconforming products to the appropriate supervisor or quality representative.Present quality status updates and findings to production and quality teams.Maintain primary line responsibility for the quality levels of products throughout the production process.Troubleshoot issues related to product assembly, test equipment, and basic hardware functionality.Interpret and work from blueprints and technical documentation during inspection and testing.Perform soldering and assembly tasks as required to support testing and rework activities.Ensure accurate documentation of test results, inspections, and any corrective actions taken.Adhere to all established quality procedures, work instructions, and safety guidelines.Be physically present on-site to perform all testing, inspection, and collaboration activities.Carry out other related duties as assigned to support production and quality objectives.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of quality control or testing experience.Hands-on experience performing quality control and inspection activities.Experience with simple mechanical inspection of electronic or mechanical components.Proficiency with Microsoft Windows platforms.Experience working with PC hardware components and systems.Familiarity with networking devices such as switches, routers, and firewalls (desired).Ability to troubleshoot basic hardware and test equipment issues.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Experience with assembly and soldering tasks in an electronics environment.Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds of test equipment for at least 40 feet.Capability to multi-task and manage various project-related duties concurrently.Ability to work independently and perform job assignments with limited supervision.Strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining high quality standards.Touch typing skills of approximately 25 to 30 words per minute.Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and reporting findings.High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all testing and inspection tasks.Ability to self-organize workloads and manage deadlines effectively.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working in an electronics manufacturing or telecommunications environment.Comfort working at small individual workstations and benches.Ability to move between warehouse/receiving areas and testing workstations throughout the day.Familiarity with automated test scripting tools and processes.Experience collaborating with production and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated ability to learn new test procedures and adapt to evolving quality standards.Why Work Here?This opportunity offers long-term stability in a clean, modern electronics manufacturing setting where quality and precision are highly valued. The environment consists of numerous small workstations and benches where detailed inspection and testing are performed. You will regularly move between the receiving area (warehouse) and your individual work station, handling test equipment and electronic hardware. Work is performed on-site, using PC hardware, Microsoft Windows platforms, networking devices, and various test tools. The facility emphasizes organization, cleanliness, and careful handling of components, with a focus on maintaining a professional and safety-conscious atmosphere.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, OR.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
