No Offer Description The Faculty of Civil Engineering at Warsaw University of Technology invites applications for a full-time position of Assistant in the group of research and teaching staff at the Department of Fundamentals of Building, Faculty of Civil Engineering. The position is offered on a fixed-term basis for one year, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting teaching activities, in particular design classes and tutorials in the field of building engineering. The duties will also include participation in research projects related to building structures, masonry structures, structural diagnostics, rehabilitation, conservation, and restoration of buildings, including both modern and ancient historic buildings located in Poland and abroad, as well as the preparation of scientific publications. The candidate will participate in research, diagnostic, and conservation activities carried out both in Poland and internationally. The scope of responsibilities also includes involvement in the organizational activities of the Department and cooperation with industry partners in the areas of building design, structural diagnostics, conservation, rehabilitation, and restoration of buildings, with particular emphasis on historic structures. Requirements Research Field Engineering » Civil engineering Education Level Master Degree or equivalent Specific Requirements A Master's degree (M.Sc.) or an equivalent degree in Civil Engineering. Ability to design building structures. Excellent knowledge of structural behaviour of building structures, including a thorough understanding of various structural systems, with particular emphasis on contemporary, historic, and ancient masonry and timber structures. Knowledge of structural diagnostic procedures carried out both in situ and under laboratory conditions, including the ability to perform basic diagnostic investigations of masonry and timber structures, as well as to prepare structural assessments and technical expert reports. Excellent command of the Polish language, including technical terminology, both written and spoken. Excellent command of the English language, including technical terminology, both written and spoken. A research profile consistent with the scientific specialization of the Department of Building Engineering. Proficiency in the use of standard computer software, including spreadsheet and word-processing applications, as well as engineering design software such as AutoCAD and Revit, and structural analysis software, including Robot Structural Analysis, ABC Obiekt 3D, SPECBUD, or equivalent applications. Ability and strong commitment to conducting independent research and scholarly work, including continuous self-development, as well as the ability to work effectively as part of a research team and to cooperate constructively with supervisors. Ability to teach and supervise students, including active involvement in educational and organizational activities beyond scheduled classes, particularly within the framework of student scientific associations. Willingness and availability to undertake frequent research-related travel outside Poland, including long-distance and extended assignments lasting from one to three months, as part of the research and scientific activities carried out by the Division's research team.
