Part-Time Assistant Track and Field Coach - Jumps

Department: Intercollegiate Athletics Classification: GMU Worker Job Category: Part-Time / Hourly Wage Job Type: Part-Time Location: Fairfax, VA Workplace Type: On Site Required Sponsorship Eligibility: Not eligible for visa sponsorship Salary: Salary commensurate with education and experience Criminal Background Check: Yes Motor Vehicle Record Check: Yes About the Position The Part-time Assistant Track and Field Coach will be responsible for assisting the Head Coach of Track & Field/Field Cross Country with the organization, administration, and coaching of the Men’s and Women’s Track and Field program. Specific duties include the horizontal jumps (LJ/TJ) and assisting our Associate Head Coach with sprints/hurdles. Candidates will be expected to adhere to all rules and regulations at George Mason University, the Atlantic 10 Conference, and the NCAA. Responsibilities Recruiting Workout Implementation (practice set-ups, warm ups/cool downs, timing, spreadsheets, etc.) Weight room supervision Organizing team activities and community service Team travel Fundraising This is a 10-month (Sept-May) paid, non-benefitted position. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree CPR and First Aid certified 2+ years of high school or collegiate experience in horizontal jumps/sprints/hurdles Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Must be available to travel with the team to competitions on weekends Must pass a criminal background check and motor vehicle record check Must currently possess an appropriate, active, valid motor vehicle operator’s license that meets all of GMU’s requirements for operating state vehicles and equipment under Mason’s Vehicle Use Policy 1411 The Office of Risk Management reserves the right to review the driver’s licenses and Motor Vehicle Reports (MVRs) of all candidates selected with employment contingent upon a favorable review. #J-18808-Ljbffr George Mason University
