Condition Monitoring Advisor, Product Performance

Job Summary The Condition Monitoring Advisor is responsible for collecting all data available for a particular machine to provide recommended repairs, pricing, and cost of ownership solutions to customers. This data is typically related to the five elements of condition monitoring: fluid analysis, equipment inspections, electronic data, repair history, and site conditions. After analysis, a WSE parts and service quotation is created and presented for all work requested by the customer. The role also creates and manages Customer Value Agreement (CVA)/OMM‑PM parts lists and schedules within designated platforms as dictated by customer agreements or OEMs. Essential Functions Safety Actively promotes, manages, and advocates safety at Western States, ensuring all employees, vendors, and clients have a safe work environment while adhering to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards. Maintains clean and clutter‑free personal work areas. Adheres to required personal protective equipment (PPE) as identified in safety policy. Strategy and Performance Management Reviews all condition monitoring data and determines potential repair solutions for equipment within territory. Qualifies the repair needs with the customer and collects necessary information to create accurate quotes or estimates. Performs all sales functions (quotes, estimates, bids, etc.) for incoming condition monitoring reports and data requiring service work or parts sales. Evaluates all warranty and service update opportunities for the machine being repaired. Presents initial quotes or estimates for work and any ongoing changes to gain customer consent to proceed. Adheres to all customer care standards. Encourages training and supports Western States' strategic programs, projects, and initiatives. Promotes the corporate vision, mission, and values of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned. Manages data, schedules, and functionality of Caterpillar Foresight platforms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with key metrics and operational excellence. Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Advanced technical skills to understand the scope of work and high‑level processes related to repair in assigned areas (General Repair, Engine/Generator, Truck, etc.). Proven ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair all CAT machine systems. Knowledge and use of Microsoft computer products or comparable systems. Conflict resolution, customer experience, and negotiation skills. Strong written and verbal communication, planning, organizing, leadership, and interpersonal relationship building skills. Ability to set and manage priorities. Self‑starter who works without supervision. Consistent attendance. Aggregates, correlates, and analyzes equipment performance and condition data using Cat Foresight applications to recommend improvements. Uses the five elements of condition monitoring to provide recommendations to customers and internal teams. Assists clients in reducing ownership and operating costs and improving machine availability through fact‑based repair or operational recommendations. Education and Experience Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED). Associate degree from an accredited vocational school preferred. Minimum five years of experience in diagnosing and repairing heavy equipment in a Caterpillar or similar environment, with hydraulic, engine, and power‑train experience preferred. Minimum two years of customer service experience in the heavy equipment industry. Ability to communicate in English (speak, read, comprehend, write). Physical Characteristics Capacity to stand for long periods, walk, sit, repeatedly climb stairs, reach (including above‑shoulder), bend, stoop, push, pull, lean, and twist. Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. in accordance with Western States' Lifting Policy. Compliance with all applicable safety requirements and policies.
