Summary:
The main function of a project engineer is to plan, direct, or coordinate activities across engineering-based projects. A typical project engineer is responsible for project design, scope management, cost control, quality, and performance reporting.

Job Responsibilities:
Provides program-specific sourcing requirements and PSDS technical input for supplier technical reviews.
Develops the initial harness parts list and performs complexity studies.
Maintains program continuity and consistency of effort by understanding the PSDS Statement of Requirements, program timing, issues, and plans, and by managing required changes.
Coordinates and manages supplier activities within the engineering factory.
Participates in interface tradeoff discussions and helps resolve system integration issues.
Manages cost, quality, mass, and related performance metrics for the power and signal distribution system, including program and content changes.
Supports pre-production build events, including both physical and virtual builds.
Ensures the design, development, and release of the wiring system are fully integrated into the vehicle architecture with a strong focus on quality.
Leads Product Development Team meetings to ensure timing and deliverables are achieved.
Leads or supports benchmarking activities to drive innovation, tradeoff decisions, and cost-benefit analysis.
Leads or supports Peer Reviews, Wire Harness Assessments, and assembly plant launch and remediation activities.
Performs complex design analysis, develops engineering designs including subsystems, and implements engineering changes.
Defines and balances system requirements.
Plans and executes test and development programs.
Releases parts and subsystems for production.

Business Group - responsible for the wire harness, connectors, grommets, the candidate would be designing the harness, partner with a designer and tell the designer here are the requirements they need and the designer would map it out, talk through different ideas to talk through issues.

Team structure - each contractor will be assigned a program team, working with other peers and electrical architects

Different Program Teams - Truck, EV, Self components of the harness (grammes, connectors)

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree required; Engineering is preferred
2 to 4 years of experience

Preferred Requirements:
Background/Experience - any DRE work is helpful
Awareness of CAD, release experience is helpful
Bonus would be experience with wiring, wiring connectors

Hiring Manager's Top Skills:
Vehicle electrical and wire harness design knowledge at least 1 year
Design release / engineering change process mastery - what it means to release, what it means with work with program teams
3D packaging and design analysis proficiency - basic understanding of what this looks like, will not be doing the work themselves, will have a partner helping them with this

Travel:
Trips to the OEM Plant in U.S. or Supplier Plants in Mexico is potentially on the table.
