Description Purpose of Job This position is responsible for performing a variety of patient care activities in a specialty clinic. Facilitates patient/provider communication and coordination of care. Provides specialized care to patients with diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes. Job Functions

- Reviews patient's medical history while collecting, prioritizing, and synthesizing comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
- Provides specialized care to patients with diseases of the skin, hair, nails and mucous membranes.
- Evaluates, diagnoses and treats patients with benign and malignant disorders of the integumentary system as well as sexually transmitted diseases.
- Administers prescribed medications/vaccines and treatments in accordance with clinic policies and scope of certification/licensure.
- Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care.
- Provides education, consultation or intervention to patients (treatment plan) and their families.
- Works collaboratively with patients to improve their health and well-being.
- Practices in a thoughtful manner including consideration for cultural diversity, individual autonomy and legal responsibilities.
- Performs specialty procedures/tests
- Helps maintain stocked supplies and sterilizes instruments/exam room.
- Assists in arranging referrals/prior authorizations as necessary.
- Charts in electronic format in accordance with licensure and scope.
- Actively participates in multidisciplinary team approach to case management.
- MD, DO, or foreign equivalency training required
- BE/BC in Dermatology
- Completion of an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited Residency training program in Dermatology
- Active, non-restricted medical license in MN (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI)
- Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges, if applicable
- BLS/ACLS required within 180 days of hire
- Licensed Physician - MN Board of Medical Practice required upon hire and
- ACLS/BLS Tier 3 - Multisource required upon hire and
- PALS - Pediatric Advance Life Support - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation - Multisource required depending on business unit upon hire
- Board Certification or Board eligible by the American Board of Dermatology or in Dermatology by the American Osteopathic Board of Dermatology upon hire
- Drug Enforcement Agency Certificate upon hire
- Prescription Monitoring Program upon hire
- National Provider Identifier upon hire
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability effectively handle high-stress fast paced environment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to serve patients in a friendly and efficient manner
- Knowledge of basic computer functions and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to respond appropriately to unpredictable situations and diverse patient populations
- Ability to work autonomously and as a team
- Capable of making independent decision with the use of good critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure, DEA certification in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges
