Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Location: Costa Mesa, CA
Pay: $65.00–$72.00/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, no nights or weekends

Job Summary

Seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to work in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment. The role involves performing brain SPECT scans, patient preparation and dosing, image processing, quality control, and hot lab duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform brain SPECT scans and related QA procedures.
• Prepare patients for IV administration and administer patient doses.
• Process and print scan images before the end of the workday.
• Perform daily camera QC, constancy testing, and surveys.
• Perform weekly wipe tests and required sealed-source leak testing.
• Perform required dose calibrator linearity, geometry, and accuracy testing.
• Maintain logbooks, documentation, and Odyssey hard drive.
• Order isotope vials in advance of scheduled scans.
• Perform hot lab duties and manage medical supply inventory.
  

Qualifications

• Current Nuclear Medicine Technologist license applicable to the state.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with challenging patients.
• Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Empathy, emotional stability, and genuine care for patients.
• Familiarity with brain imaging is a plus.
• Familiarity with Picker Prism 3000 is a plus.
  

Physical Requirements

• Frequent computer use, sitting, typing, and communication.
• Occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, and bending.
• Ability to lift objects up to 15 lbs.
