Job Description
Make a meaningful impact by supporting K-4 students in a Life Skills setting as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role near Osceola, IN. This opportunity allows you to work hands-on with elementary-aged learners, fostering their educational and developmental growth through specialized instruction and personal attention. The assignment begins as soon as possible and runs through May 27th, 2027, providing stable, long-term employment with a consistent schedule.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Special Education Teaching License in Indiana is required
Experience working with K-4 students preferred, particularly in Life Skills environments
Strong classroom management skills and adaptability
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities for partnering with staff and families
Dedication to creating an inclusive, supportive classroom experience
Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to K-4 students with unique learning needs
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) adhering to state and district standards
Adapt lessons and materials, using specialized techniques and assistive technology as needed
Monitor student progress and adjust strategies for academic and functional skill advancement
Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, and administrators to ensure comprehensive student support
Foster a positive, encouraging environment that promotes independence and self-confidence
