Trading Analyst

Our client is a leading hedge fund, with a big profit center in their commodities team. They are pod structured and one of the firm’s big earners is scaling out his pod, targeting a Power Analyst in ERCOT. The successful candidate will work closely with senior traders, analyzing power market fundamentals, congestion, transmission constraints, weather impacts, load growth, generation outages and broader supply-demand dynamics across ERCOT. Responsibilities Develop and communicate market views and trade ideas Analyze congestion, basis and nodal pricing dynamics Monitor weather, load, generation and transmission developments Support futures, options and physical power trading activities Build analytical tools and market intelligence to support trading decisions Requirements 2-8 years of experience within ERCOT power markets Understanding of power market fundamentals, congestion and transmission Experience within trading, market analysis, forecasting, research or commercial analytics Strong analytical and quantitative skills Python, SQL or power market modeling experience is advantageous Location: New York City/Miami/Houston or CT open. Compensation They are happy tying a bonus to P&L or providing a guarantee. Expecting this to sit at $500,000-650,000 Y1. In exceptional circumstances this can climb to $800+. #J-18808-Ljbffr
