Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

Position Overview

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in a fast-paced environment, providing high-quality care to patients experiencing medical emergencies. This position requires a dedicated and skilled nurse to assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Shift Information

The RN will work 12-hour shifts, with rotations covering afternoons and nights. A commitment of 36 hours per week is expected.

Weekend and Holiday Requirements

Required to work every other weekend.
Availability for holidays, as needed.

Orientation

Travelers will need to complete an 8-hour non-billable orientation prior to starting the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

Assess and monitor patient conditions in the emergency room setting.
Administer prescribed medications, treatments, and interventions.
Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare team members to develop patient care plans.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and treatment plans.
Respond to emergency situations calmly and efficiently.

Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of current Emergency Room experience.
Experience with Meditech Expanse is highly preferred.
Must possess a valid Massachusetts RN license.
Current certifications: ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and BCLS are required.
Must have a reliable vehicle for transportation.
All scheduling requests, including time off, should be submitted with the initial application.
