Travel Med-Surg Nurse (RN) - Albemarle, NC

This position places you in a progressive medical-surgical/telemetry environment recognized as an Advanced Primary Stroke Center. As you build your resume, you'll work with a diverse team, encounter a variety of patient diagnoses, and engage with leadership dedicated to team collaboration and quality outcomes. Exposure to different unit practices, innovative technology, and floating across regional facilities broadens your clinical skillset and experience-ensuring you return home with a stronger, more versatile portfolio.


Schedule:

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00am-7:00pm or 7:00pm-7:00am
• Weekend rotation: every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday commitment: 75% coverage

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

• Active RN license and eligibility to practice in NC
• BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Certification required
• Minimum 18 months current Med-Surg/Telemetry experience
• Proficiency with Epic EMR, Alaris pumps, and Omnicell medication systems
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills
• Comfort with cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke/NIH assessments, chest tube management, PIV starts, trach care, IV/medication solutions, and care for drains/tubes
• Team-orientated approach and adaptability for floating within the regional division
• First-time travelers will be considered, though experience is preferred

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver exceptional patient care for stroke, COPD, cardiac, and acute med-surg diagnoses
• Manage patient ratios of 1:5-6 (may increase during surge periods)
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and communication
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and support staff (CNA, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalist, telemetry monitoring)
