Food Service Worker - Per Diem

Responsibilities Alan B. Miller Medical Center will open in Spring 2026. The new state‑of‑the‑art hospital will join UHS’s growing regional network. Upon completion, the campus will include 365,000 sq ft of hospital and medical office space and offer comprehensive services such as Emergency Care, Orthopedics, Surgical Services, Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Oncology, Cardiovascular and Neurosurgical services. It will also house outpatient medical office buildings. Food Service Worker Healthcare Food Service Worker is responsible for preparation, delivery, and retrieval of patient trays and accurate setup and delivery of patients’ meals to ensure quality service. Duties include working in retail areas (Food Server/Cashier), dishwasher tasks (automatic and manual cleaning of pots, dishes, utensils), floor cleaning (swept/mopped), trash/cardboard removal, and additional work assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Education Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English. Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Knowledge of proper food preparation, handling, and storage required. Skills: Considerable working knowledge of food preparation and ServSafe practices. Highly proficient in the use of all kitchen equipment. License/Certification: ServSafe and/or food handler safety card required. Other: Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patients served on the assigned unit/department. Ability to work and cooperate with members of hospital staff.
