Travel Inpatient Pharmacist - Pediatric Acute Care

Location: CT Duration: 13-Week Contract Schedule: Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week

Position Overview

A leading academic health system is seeking an experienced Inpatient Pharmacist to support a pediatric acute care pharmacy team. This role offers the opportunity to work with neonatal, infant, pediatric, and adolescent patient populations in a collaborative hospital environment.

The pharmacist will support medication management, order verification, clinical pharmacy services, and sterile compounding operations while collaborating closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

Schedule

Rotating Day & Evening Shifts

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Day and evening rotation based on department needs
• Weekend coverage required approximately every fourth weekend

Key Responsibilities

• Review and verify medication orders for hospitalized patients
• Provide clinical dosing recommendations and medication management support
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
• Ensure safe medication dispensing and distribution
• Support IV medication preparation and sterile compounding activities
• Monitor medication therapy for safety and effectiveness
• Utilize automated medication dispensing systems and pharmacy technology

Ideal Background

• Active Pharmacist license
• Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience required
• Acute care experience required
• PGY1 Residency or equivalent inpatient experience preferred
• Pediatric or children's hospital experience preferred
• Experience with sterile compounding and IV preparation preferred
• Strong clinical judgment and communication skills
