Salary: $150,00.000 - $250,000.00

Competitive base plus performance incentives, such as a profit-sharing component tied to the value created in the turnaround – the leader who improves this business shares directly in the upside.

Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) owns the outcomes of everything that happens within the four walls of Chassis Master, a Collision Partners location specializing in luxury collision repair, from financial performance and day-to-day operations to customer experience and team development. Chassis Master has the underlying assets to become an exceptional collision repair business – facility capacity, OEM certifications, technical capability, and an established market presence – but it is not yet the operation it is capable of becoming. This is a build-and-turnaround assignment, not a maintain-the-status-quo role: the GM is expected to understand the business deeply, fix what is broken, strengthen the team, and drive it toward its full potential.

The GM is fully accountable for growing the business, cultivating dealer and referral relationships, and serving as the primary connection between the location and regional leadership. The GM does not need to personally perform every technical or administrative function, but is accountable for ensuring those functions happen well, and for pulling in Collision Partners’ technical and support resources – estimating and repair planning, technical and quality control, finance, HR and recruiting, marketing, and procurement – when specialized expertise is needed to accelerate the turnaround.

This role is for a leader who sees what the business can become and wants to build it: someone who sets the tone through presence, steps in early to solve problems, exercises sound judgment, and brings the discretion and polish luxury clients expect, while having the honest conversations that keep the team and the business strong.

Key Responsibilities: 

 

• Own the location’s full P&L, including revenue, gross profit, labor efficiency, parts margins, and overhead, and achieve or exceed budgeted revenue, gross profit %, and EBITDA targets.

• Diagnose the root causes behind current performance gaps, establish clear turnaround priorities, and restore operating discipline and accountability across the location.

• Drive performance against financial and operational targets using weekly and monthly KPI reviews (sales per RO, WIP, close ratio, CSI, AR aging, profitability) to identify variances and ensure timely corrective action, without letting any single KPI compromise repair quality or customer experience.

• Be accountable for repair planning and estimating outcomes, including complete documentation, adherence to OEM procedures, and timely resolution of supplements and payment issues.

• Set and uphold the standard for repair quality and OEM compliance, ensuring financial, carrier, cycle-time, or production pressure never compromises required repair operations.

• Drive revenue growth and conversion performance, engaging estimating or technical support resources when audits, carrier disputes, or complex repair-planning issues require additional expertise.

• Ensure effective production planning and workflow management so repairs move efficiently, bottlenecks get addressed, and vehicles are completed correctly and on time.

• Oversee WIP health and operational execution, embedding continuous improvement into the daily operation.

• Protect and strengthen the location’s OEM certifications by partnering with Collision Partners’ technical resources to keep equipment, tooling, and audit requirements current.

• Be accountable for safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, state regulations), including proper handling of hazardous materials.

• Lead local market development and key external relationships – dealerships, OEM representatives, referral partners, and insurance carriers – rebuilding trust and consistency where performance has created friction.

• Be accountable for customer satisfaction at or above company benchmarks, personally resolving escalated complaints.

• Set the standard for customer communication from initial inquiry through delivery, in alignment with brand standards.

• Assess the existing team objectively, strengthen the leadership structure beneath the GM, and make the talent decisions – developing, repositioning, or changing people – needed to build an organization that can sustain strong performance.

• Build and retain a high-performing team: set clear expectations, create accountability, develop people, and address performance issues, entitlement, or bad behavior directly and promptly.

• Translate direction from regional leadership into action at the shop level, championing it as your own – there is no “corporate” and “the shop,” only one team building one business.

• Exercise sound judgment and act with urgency; resolve issues at the lowest appropriate level and proactively engage regional, technical, and support resources rather than letting problems linger.

• Ensure effective performance management and staffing, partnering with HR and recruiting to attract, select, onboard, and retain the team the operation requires.

Requirements:

Required:

• 5+ years of advanced experience in collision repair, automotive service, or related operations.

• 2+ years in a leadership role with direct P&L exposure or full P&L responsibility.

• Demonstrated success leading a turnaround, significant operational transformation, or major performance-improvement initiative.

• Strong financial acumen, including experience interpreting shop-level P&Ls and operational KPIs.

• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team of technicians, estimators, and support staff.

• Working knowledge of industry estimating platforms (CCC, Mitchell, or Audatex) and shop management systems.

• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and state regulations governing collision repair operations.

• Strong professional communication, judgment, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to work in a collision-repair environment, including standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test, if applicable. Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Preferred:

• Experience inheriting an underperforming team or operating environment and building stronger leadership, culture, and accountability.

• I-CAR Platinum, ASE certification, OEM certification experience, or equivalent demonstrated technical competency.

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, operations, automotive management, or a related field.

• Experience operating within OEM-certified repair programs (structural, aluminum, ADAS calibration).

• Experience in a multi-shop operator (MSO) environment.
