Retail Associate - Warehouse Store - Part Time

Schedule: Monday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM, Wednesday 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM

The Retail Associate staffs the company store and supports fellow associates by providing a high level of customer service while associates are shopping in the Company Store.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Work with DC Management to select merchandise for store sale.
• Analyze internal sales trends to identify opportunities for increased sales, discontinued items, price reductions.
• Resolve Associate concerns as needed in a professional manner.
• Stock store shelves with merchandise delivered by DC Operations.
• Receive internal and external merchandise verifying accuracy of delivery, note discrepancies or fulfillment of deliveries.
• Process Sales thru Point-of-Sale system
• Run POS reports as required by DC Management and Accounting, Finance.
• Maintain general cleanliness of store, including sweeping, dusting, trash removal to designated area.
• Notify supervisor of any repairs needed for the store or equipment.
• Open and/or Close Store as scheduled or per direction of DC Management.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned by DC Management.

Qualifications

• 6 months retail, grocery, and/or service industry experience, preferred.
• Good judgement is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.
• Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.

Physical Environment

• Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled warehouse/lifestyle center environment.
• May sit for periods of time at desk or computer terminal.
• May be required to use calculators, keyboards, telephone in the course of normal workday.
• Stooping, bending, twisting and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist and turn frequently.
• Operation of powered industrial equipment.

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. Sales Positions Only: For sales positions that are commission-based, the above range is an estimate of total potential commission-based compensation during an associate's first year, but UNFI offers an introductory period minimum of $680 per week. After the introductory period, as a 100% commission-based role, there is no set salary. UNFI's commission plans are uncapped and average earnings vary depending on territory and sales achieved, among other factors.
