Field Safety Specialist

The First Responder Specialist - Fire will promote Client fleet operations, safety best practices, and build relationships with first responders, emergency services, and public safety organizations within an assigned region. You will be part of a cross functional team responsible for providing training on the Client vehicle capabilities to first responder agencies and gathering feedback for future consideration.

In this role, you will:

• Build and maintain relationships with first responders (fire, EMS, law enforcement, et.) in current and future areas of Client operations.
• Analyze first responder interactions to develop operational and engineering learnings. Collaborate with the Safety Learnings team to implement improvements.
• Represent Client on relevant industry and interagency committees as they relate to vehicle safety and first responder interaction.
• Establish and maintain partnerships with local law enforcement, fire departments, EMS, and other emergency response groups
• Provide training on Client vehicle capabilities and safety protocols during emergencies
• Gather feedback to help Client continuously improve autonomous vehicle technology and emergency response procedures
• Represent Client at industry events and meetings

Qualifications:

• 15+ years of professional fire department service
• Exceptional communication, training, and relationship building skills
• A large network of Fire/Law Enforcement and traffic/transportation contacts, i.e. FBI National Academy, state DOT, regional TIM coalitions
• Experience conducting technical investigations (i.e., reconstruction, forensic, arson, cyber), and liaising with external stakeholders
• Comfort coordinating with technical teams to stand up or troubleshoot automated data integrations (no coding required, but data-literate)
• Understanding of safety best practices and protocols during emergencies
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a startup environment
• Bachelor's degree or experience in a related field, such as Public Safety, Transportation or Emergency Management and/or certification in traffic safety or investigations
