Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Dietary Aide to support meal service and dining operations. This position is cross-trained and will work some shifts as a Dietary Aide and other shifts as a Server, depending on operational needs. The Dietary Aide plays an important role in resident nutrition, satisfaction, and safety while helping ensure residents receive quality dining support and excellent customer service.

Compensation: $15 per hour

Additional Pay: Eligible for an additional $5 per hour worked on Saturday and Sunday (Weekend Bonus)

Schedule and Employment Type

• Part-Time Days (6:45AM - 3PM) | Weekends Only

• Part-Time Evenings (3:30PM - 8:30PM)

• Part-Time Evenings (4:30PM - 8:15PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform Dietary Aide and Server duties as assigned based on daily operational needs

• Assist with preparing and serving meals

• Prepare and serve salads, fruits, dry cereals, cold breads, beverages, and between-meal nourishment

• Set up meal trays and assist with serving trays to residents

• Collect trays and assist with meal cleanup following service

• Wrap flatware in napkins and prepare dining areas for meal service

• Keep kitchen work areas clean, organized, and sanitary

• Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workspaces

• Wipe tables following meals

• Empty trash, sweep, and mop designated areas

• Help prevent food waste through proper portioning and food handling practices

• Report equipment repairs and maintenance needs as necessary

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control guidelines

• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Food service, dietary, or customer service experience preferred

• Ability to follow sanitation and safety standards

• Strong customer service and communication skills

• Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Ability to carry up to 50 pounds

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during meal service

• Ability to twist, bend, squat, crawl, kneel, and crouch as needed to perform job duties
