Responsibilities:
The Oncology Certified Registered Nurse (RN) provides specialized nursing care in an outpatient oncology clinic setting, focusing on chemotherapy and infusion treatments. The RN is responsible for administering infusions, performing port draws, and managing infusion pumps, while collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient care. This role requires oncology certification and prior outpatient oncology or infusion experience, with a commitment to patient safety and effective communication.
Responsibilities:
- Administer chemotherapy and other infusion treatments to oncology patients.
- Perform 1-2 port draws daily as part of patient care procedures.
- Operate and monitor Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care.
- Document patient assessments, treatment plans, and infusion details accurately in the medical record system (EPIC preferred).
- Provide patient education regarding infusion therapies and side effect management.
- Maintain compliance with oncology nursing standards and safety protocols.
- Current Registered Nurse license in the practicing state.
- Oncology Nursing Certification (ONCC or ONS) required.
- Prior outpatient oncology or infusion nursing experience required (minimum 1 year).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Familiarity with Alaris Infusion Pumps and CADD Ambulatory Pumps.
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical record system.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
- No weekend shifts required.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- Travelers are recognized and valued members of the team.
- Return to office (RTO) restrictions must be disclosed at time of application.
- Full-time, 40 hours per week guaranteed.
- Shift options include: 7:45 AM - 4:15 PM, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 5:30 PM, or 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM.
