Senior Devops Engineer

IT Application DeveloperDuration: 12 Months ContractPosition Summary: Responsible for leading and/or working on complex IT application design, development, testing, implementation, documentation and support of new or existing applications. This position also supports the planning, installation, configuration, testing, implementation and management of systems environments in alignment with organizational IT architecture and business needs. The role requires strong expertise in modern application development, deployment processes, DevOps methodologies, ERP applications, systems administration, CI/CD, infrastructure, integrations and information security practices.Principle Duties and Responsibilities:Analyze and refine systems requirements, translate requirements into application prototypes, plan and design systems and application architecture, develop and maintain code, design user interfaces, test applications, and ensure software and systems quality, functionality and security.Plan, install, configure, test, implement and manage Unix, Linux and Windows operating systems and systems environments. Monitor and optimize system performance while supporting infrastructure requirements including bandwidth, server sizing and capacity planning.Design, develop, optimize and integrate new and reusable system components. Support complex ERP systems and batch or real-time integrations, including CGI Advantage 3.11 and 4.x running on Oracle databases.Install, patch and administer IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere environments, including SSL certificate renewal. Provide technical leadership in designing and implementing solutions for complex ERP systems and integrations.Create, maintain and manage CI/CD pipelines using DevOps methodologies and toolchains including Jenkins, GitHub and ArgoCD. Develop automation and scripts using Python, Shell, Bash or similar scripting languages.Support containerized environments and orchestration using Rancher and Kubernetes. Schedule and manage batch jobs using Control-M or similar scheduling tools.Perform secure file transfers using SFTP tools such as FileZilla and WinSCP, and compare and validate files using utilities such as Beyond Compare and Visual Studio Code.Collaborate with technical, business, infrastructure and operations teams to troubleshoot complex issues, resolve problems and support application and systems environments. Utilize monitoring and ticketing tools including Splunk, Jira, Azure DevOps and Cherwell, along with Microsoft Office.Prepare and maintain technical documentation and reports while establishing cooperative working relationships with stakeholders. Ensure information security and information assurance policies, principles and practices are incorporated into application and operating environments.Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in an IT-related or Engineering field. Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.Basic Requirements:Minimum 7 years of experience in electronic data processing systems study, design and programming.At least 4 years of experience working in a lead capacity.4+ years within the past 5 years working with CI/CD pipelines, including Python, Shell, Bash or similar scripting and Jenkins, GitHub and ArgoCD.3+ years within the past 5 years working with Rancher, Kubernetes and container orchestration, including Control-M or similar batch scheduling tools.2+ years within the past 3 years supporting CGI Advantage 3.11 and 4.x ERP applications on Oracle databases, including IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere installation, patching and SSL certificate renewal.1+ year within the past 3 years working as a Linux/Unix systems administrator within a formal change control process.Skills and Abilities:Modern application development, deployment and DevOps methodologies.Strong Linux/Unix/Windows administration and systems environment management.CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub, ArgoCD and scripting with Python, Shell or Bash.Rancher, Kubernetes, container orchestration and Control-M.CGI Advantage 3.11/4.x, Oracle, IBM WebSphere/InfoSphere and ERP integrations.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, analytical and technical solution design abilities.Infrastructure knowledge including bandwidth, server sizing, capacity planning, database management, data modeling, data warehousing and transaction processing.Strong communication and collaboration skills with technical, business, infrastructure and operations teams.Experience with Splunk, Jira, Azure DevOps, Cherwell, Microsoft Office, SFTP tools and file comparison utilities.Ability to prepare effective technical documentation and reports and maintain strong working relationships.Note: (Hybrid- 3days in office,2 day remote)About US Tech Solutions: US Tech Solutions is a global staff augmentation firm providing a wide range of talent on-demand and total workforce solutions.
