About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Controls Engineer to design, program, commission, and troubleshoot automation systems supporting advanced battery manufacturing. The role covers equipment development, installation, startup, and sustaining operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and program industrial control systems and PLCs from scratch.

• Program, commission, and troubleshoot automation equipment during installation and startup.

• Integrate PLCs with robotics, vision, SCADA, HMI, and MES systems.

• Develop product tracking, handshakes, data transactions, and equipment interfaces.

• Support FAT, SAT, startup, vendor coordination, and production troubleshooting.

• Troubleshoot electrical, controls, safety, downtime, and process issues.

• Read and redline electrical schematics and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.

• Participate in rotating off-hours on-call support.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on controls engineering experience in manufacturing.

• Strong Siemens PLC programming using TIA Portal.

• Rockwell Studio 5000 and legacy PanelView experience.

• HMI/SCADA experience with Ignition Perspective and Siemens WinCC.

• Experience with MES integration, PLC data transactions, product tracking, and handshakes.

• Functional safety experience, including ProfiSafe, CIP Safety, and hardwired safety.

• Strong electrical troubleshooting and schematic interpretation skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• FANUC robotics/ROBOGUIDE, Beckhoff TwinCAT, or other robotics experience.

• Keyence/Cognex vision and barcode systems.

• Ignition data integration, FTView ME, IPCs, and Panel PCs.

• Industrial OT networks and Siemens Scalance switches.

• AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks, control panel fabrication/modification.

• Battery, energy storage, automotive, or discrete manufacturing experience.

• Powder systems, web handling, electrode manufacturing, or oven controls experience.

Salary: The hourly rate for this position is $48 $52 per hour.
