The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides personal care services to Jordan Valley Senior Care participants. The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) will also participate in other activities and tasks as assigned to assist the primary care, therapy, and adult day health staff.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing personal care and escort assistance in accordance with individual treatment plans – including peri-care, grooming, dressing, showering, bathing, toileting, feeding, ambulation.
• Reporting observed changes in participants' conditions to Center Manager and/or other center-based clinical staff.
• Proactively communicating participant health and safety concerns to Center Manager and/or other program staff.
• Demonstrating safe practices utilizing proper body mechanics and complying with universal precautions.
• Interacting in friendly, courteous, and professional manner with participants and their families/caregivers.
• Participating in social and recreation activities with participants as appropriate.
• Implementing interventions, as appropriate to training, as directed by rehabilitation staff, including use of mechanical assistance for participant transfers and mobility.
• Occasionally accompanying participants to outside clinical appointments, when necessary.
• Assisting with food service delivery and monitoring during mealtimes.

Required qualifications include:

• Valid driver's license
• 1 year experience working with the frail or elderly population.
• Minimum 6 months of clinical experience as a PCA, CNA, or EMT.
• Must complete and pass the Jordan Valley Senior Care approved curriculum for Personal Care Aides upon hire
• BLS Certification required within 90 days of hire.

Preferred qualifications include:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current valid HHA or CNA license.
