Job Summary and Qualification

Prepares and identifies patients, collects relevant information for completion of procedures.

Performs all MRI procedures assigned by Manager, following department exam protocol.

Observant of patients' conditions.

Practices safety in the vicinity of the magnetic field of the MR unit

Understands and operates electronic information systems.

Administers contrast media as required. If a RN is not available, certified technologists may have access to the emergency medications at the direction of the attending physician

Participates in continuing education activities to expand/enhance knowledge of Diagnostic Radiology and MRI and to meet the continuing education requirements of the ARRT.

Takes call after regular hours.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

Required: 6 months experience as Radiologic Technologist Preferred: One year of experience as an MRI or CT technologist.

EDUCATION / CREDENTIALS Required: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology. ARRT registered. Virginia State license Preferred: As above with certification by the ARRT in MRI. Hours: Night shift ( 7p-3am M-F with rotating call and holidays)
