Student Assistant – Office of General Counsel The CSU Office of the Chancellor is seeking a responsible, punctual, and reliable Student Assistant to provide clerical support twenty hours per week, Monday - Friday, between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. When classes are not in session, such as during spring and summer breaks, the Student Assistant may be eligible to work up to 40 hours per week. Position Information The anticipated salary for this position is $16.90 per hour. The salary range for this classification is $16.90 to $24.00 per hour. This position is temporary, part‑time, and does not include benefits. This is an 'On‑Site Only' position located at the main headquarters in Long Beach, California. Part‑Time Employees are not eligible to telecommute. A skills test will be administered for this position. Job Summary Under direct supervision, the Student Assistant will perform various clerical duties supporting the Office of General Counsel. Duties and responsibilities include answering telephones, maintaining legal files and various records; maintaining a legal library; copying a wide variety of legal documents; scanning documents, electronically filing documents in our document management system; preparing mailings; assisting in mail distribution/package pickup and delivery between different building locations; faxing; moving boxes and files, meeting room set up/clean up, maintain and restock office supplies, and other departmental support duties as assigned. This position requires a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all work products. Minimum Qualifications The student must be enrolled in at least six units at a CSU campus. This position requires basic experience in an office environment; basic knowledge of general office procedures and standard office equipment; basic working knowledge of current software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; ability to lift/move 25 lbs. or more; ability to learn and perform assigned work; ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities; dependable and mature; ability to work independently, and good organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
