Survey Technician

You will work from our Rochester Hills office. Spalding DeDecker is seeking a Survey Technician to join our Survey Department and support field operations on a variety of surveying projects. In this position, the Survey Technician will work under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief and assist with all aspects of field data collection, including operating surveying and utility-locating equipment, as well as trucks or ATVs as required for project needs. This position reports directly to the Survey Crew Chief. Candidates should be motivated individuals interested in developing a strong foundation in land surveying through hands‑on field experience. The ideal candidate is pursuing or has completed coursework in surveying, engineering, or a related field, and may be enrolled in evening classes while seeking a full‑time role that complements their studies. Typical Duties & Responsibilities Important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to the following: Demonstrate accuracy, quality, and thoroughness The operation, maintaining, and organizing of trucks Safety awareness / Prepared for work every day Requirements High School Diploma or GED required; some college preferred Willingness to learn on the job Strong attention to detail and thorough follow‑through skills.
