Position Overview

The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing and evaluating patients to create tailored treatment plans that align with their specific conditions. This role involves tracking patient progress, adjusting treatment strategies as necessary, and providing education to patients to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Qualifications
  • Patient Age Range: All age groups.
  • Educational Requirement: Master’s Degree in a relevant field.
Essential Skills
  • In-depth understanding of Speech Language Pathology theories, methodologies, practices, and tools.
  • Strong communication abilities with a proactive and positive approach to problem-solving.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of potential risks, necessary precautions, and corrective actions in patient care.
  • Capability to evaluate and implement treatment plans for both simple and complex therapy diagnoses.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Licensure and Certifications
  • Active Florida license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA is mandatory upon hiring or transferring into this position.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with Video Swallow Studies, Speaking Valves, Voice Prostheses, and FEES is advantageous.
Preferred Education
  • Master’s degree in Speech and Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Required Experience
  • Less than one year of clinical experience in relevant settings (e.g., Acute Care, Outpatient, Skilled Nursing Facility). Experience gained during fellowship is applicable.
