Maintenance Tech IV - 7am to 7pm

Maintenance Technician IV - West Chester, OH Shift: Rotating Days (7am to 7pm) The Maintenance Technician - IV is the most advanced level i n the Maintenance Technician series . Th i s position is responsible for leading , oversee and guide the most complex and difficult tasks that are assigned to Maintenance Technician I , II and Ill's who are responsible for performing a variety of skilled mechanical work in maintenance, installation, testing , troubleshooting , and repair of equipment while providing hands on assistance as well. They will also perform highly skilled mechanical and electrical work under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor. Maintenance IV's will have a strong working knowledgeand ability to perform alltask as specified within the Maintenance Technician I , II and Ill position descriptions in addition to those specified within this description . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Understanding and demonstrating the behavior that the safety of yourse l f and other coworkers is paramount and is the # 1 priority here at WestRock . Lead , plan and review the work of persons in the Maintenance I , II , and Ill riles that are responsible for performing mechanical and/or electrical duties in the maintenance , repair , inspection , testing , and installation of mechanical/electrical equipment i ncluding structural. Observe or listen to machinery or equipment operationto detect and identify malfunction. PerformPreventativemaintenanceworkonplantmachine r y and facilities maintenance . Develop , design or create newapplications , i deas , systemso r products, includingartist i ccontributions. Identify educational needs of others , develop educational or training programs or classes and teach or i nstruct others . Identify the developmental needs of others and by utilizing the skills of coaching and mentoring h elp others to improve their knowledge or skills . Installelectronicpower , communication , controlorsecurityequipmentorsystems . Repaircomputer - controlled manufacturing systems. Provide guidance and expert advice to management or other groups or technical systems or process related topics. Interpret , explain and enforce department policies and procedures to reach full andaccurate understanding . Operate various tools , instruments and equipment used in the testing and repairs of mechanical eq u ipmen t. Fabricate , assemble , andd i sassemble manufactured productsbyhand . Use acetylene welding/cutting torch and combination welding procedures Useelectricalorelectronicdevices or equipment. Establishlongrangeobjectivesthatspecifythestrategiesandactionstoachievethem . Operate with advanced skill handtoolsbothpoweredandmanual. Setupandoperateavarietyofmachinetoolssuchas a drillpress , latheand/orweldingequipment. Operate maintenance vehicles including aerial lifts , personneltransportvehiclesand forklifts. Workinasafeandefficientmannerinaccordancewithcompanypoliciesandprocedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or Experience Equivalent to the completion to the 12th grade supplemented by industrial or vocational course work in electrical , industrial or mechanical maintenanceprograms or a related field . Persons in this classification will generally have eight years of increasingly responsible experience and attainment of recognized journey level status as a technician in all around electrical and mechanical work . LanguageSkills Ability to read and interpret documents such assafety rules , operating andma i ntenance instructions , and procedure manuals . May require the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. May requ ir e the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizat i on . Mathematical Skills Ability toadd , subtract , multiply , and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions , and decimals . ReasoningAbility Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions . Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations . ComputerSkills To perform this job successfully , an individual should possess working knowledge as it pertains to the operations , services and activities performed by and within the Computerized Maintenance Management System. (CMMS) program

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

In-house electrical authorization must be obtained prior to conducting any electrical assignments . Working knowledge of: Operations , servicesandactivitiesofallareasofmechanicalandelectricalmaintenance. All equipment and supplies commonly used in the mechanical or electrical t r ade . Method and techniques pertaining to installat i on , maintenanceandrepairofmechanicalsystems. Occupational hazards and standard safety practices (Including butnotlimited to ; NFPA, OE , OSHA , and WestRock). Operationalcharacteristicsofavarietyofmeasuringandtestingequipmentandtoolsformechanical maintenance . Applicable codes and ordinances related to mechanical trade. A person in this position must possess the ability to: Lead, organize and review the workofmaintenancestaff . Independently perform the most difficult mechanical maintenance , repair , instal l at i onandtesting functions on all but the most sophisticatedequipment. Workindependentlyintheabsenceofsupervision . Complete all work with quality workmanship and quality repairs.
