The VA St. Louis Health Care System is actively recruiting for a BC/BE Hospitalist to work at our John Cochran VA Medical Center in midtown St. Louis, MO. Responsibilities may include care of acutely ill hospitalized patients in our Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) or attending on the General Medicine wards (supervision of internal medicine residents and students). Willingness to perform in both roles is preferred but not required. In addition, on call responsibilities will include functioning as the Medical Officer of the Day (MOD) during evening and night shifts as well as on call physician coverage for our spinal cord inpatient unit. Some night and weekend duty will be required. Routine procedures: Intubation, central lines, chest tubes, arthrocentesis, paracentesis. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Qualifications: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine Academic Appointment: Educational experience plus clinical and/or research experience to qualify for an academic appointment at Washington University or St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis Office Hours: May be 8-hour (varied shifts) or 12-hour shifts (7am 7pm) depending on future requirement. Will work some evenings, weekends, nights and holidays Call Schedule: No Call!
