Job Title: Construction Technician
Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of new construction projects, installing and assembling multiple types of materials and equipment. As a Construction Technician, you will contribute to the build-out of commercial and industrial spaces, using your mechanical aptitude and practical skills with tools to deliver high-quality installations alongside a small, collaborative crew.
Responsibilities

• Install a range of construction materials including duct work, large walk-in freezers, grease hoods, cabinets, countertops, lighting and wall panels in new construction settings.
• Carry out general construction tasks across multiple disciplines such as carpentry, HVAC, flooring and general labour as required by each project.
• Use a variety of power tools and basic hand tools safely and effectively to complete installation and construction activities.
• Accurately read and interpret tape measurements down to 1/16 of an inch to ensure precise cutting, fitting and installation of materials.
• Assist with the installation of industrial duct systems, HVAC components and related equipment in line with project specifications.
• Interpret and follow blueprints and installation drawings to perform correct layout, positioning and assembly of materials.
• Work closely with a crew of approximately five colleagues, contributing to a cooperative team environment and supporting others as needed.
• Travel to and from project sites, including undertaking overnight travel when required to meet project schedules.
• Maintain and use personal power tools and basic tools, ensuring they are in good working order and suitable for site activities.
• Follow site safety procedures and construction best practices to maintain a safe working environment and protect equipment and materials.
• Support general site preparation, clean-up and material handling to keep work areas organised and efficient.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of experience in the construction field, ideally in new construction environments.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to work confidently with a range of power tools and basic hand tools.
• Ability to read a tape measure accurately down to 1/16 of an inch and apply measurements in practical construction tasks.
• Experience performing general labour and installation work in construction, including tasks related to carpentry, HVAC and flooring.
• Capability to install duct work and other industrial installation components in line with project requirements.
• Willingness to undertake all aspects of construction work required on site, adapting to different tasks and disciplines.
• Willingness and ability to travel to and from projects, including overnight stays when necessary.
• Possession of own power tools and basic tools suitable for general construction and installation work.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints to guide installation and construction activities.
• Comfort working as part of a small crew, communicating clearly and collaborating to meet project deadlines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with installation of large walk-in freezers, grease hoods, cabinets, countertops, lighting and wall panels.
• Background in industrial installation or duct installation work.
• Familiarity with HVAC installation practices in commercial or industrial settings.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced new construction environment with changing priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering precise, high-quality workmanship.
• Reliability and flexibility to work extended hours when required to support project timelines.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Harrisburg, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
