Shuttle Driver

Position Details Night Shift - Dispatch Time Between 4pm - 7pm Daily Pay: $200 Doubles Endorsement Required We Deliver the Goods Competitive pay and benefits, including Day 1 Health & Wellness Benefits, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, 401K Employer Matching, Education Assistance, Paid Time Off, and more Growth opportunities performing essential work to support America's food distribution system Safe and inclusive working environment, including a culture of rewards, recognition, and respect Position Purpose As a Shuttle Driver, you will play a vital role in the operation of our business by transporting empty trailers to the Operating Company warehouse locations and turning around to deliver full trailers to domicile/shuttle yard locations. You will be responsible for driving a tandem trailer, tractor trailer, and/or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, transporting empty trailers to the operating company warehouse locations, and returning full trailers with various products to domicile or shuttle yard locations in a safe and timely manner in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. You will communicate and interact with customers, vendors, and co‑workers professionally, ensuring questions are answered accurately and promptly, functioning as a team member within the department and organization, and performing any duty assigned to best serve the company. Responsibilities Perform all required safety checks (e.g., pre/post trip) including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations; inspect to ensure they meet company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed. Report all safety issues and/or repairs required. Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies, immediately reporting all safety hazards. Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight. Ensure all required route paperwork is with tractor trailer load and available to driver upon dispatch. Drive and deliver trailers according to predetermined route schedule. Perform hook/unhook procedures per safety guidelines. Park and store tractor trailers in designated areas. Ensure all equipment and freight are appropriately locked and/or always secured. Collect and secure damaged goods and customer returns in empty trailer, return to base facility, and complete necessary paperwork. Unload all equipment, materials, and remove trash from trailers as required. Complete daily record of hours of service and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required. Perform other related duties as assigned.
