Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into a pivotal leadership role as an Intensive Learning Community Lead Teacher, guiding a dedicated self-contained classroom for students with significant disabilities. This contract position runs from August 2026 through June 2027, offering the chance to make a profound difference in the lives of up to ten students, most of whom require substantial support and benefit from both structure and kindness in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor a team of 2-3 classroom aides, providing direction and support.
• Design and implement individualized educational programs for students with significant needs, including those on the autism spectrum who require assistance with communication, social skills, adaptive behavior, academics, and motor development.
• Foster a classroom environment structured around clear expectations, consistent routines, and flexibility to accommodate each student’s growth.
• Employ a range of supports, including AAC devices, to help students—some with limited verbal abilities—reach their communication and learning goals.
• Collaborate closely with paraprofessionals and related service providers to ensure comprehensive support for all students.

Desired Qualifications:

• Valid Special Education Teaching Credential.
• Experience creating and sustaining a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom for students with significant disabilities.
• Strong skills in differentiating instruction, managing challenging behavior, and implementing communication and assistive technology strategies.
