Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) - Telemetry RN

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to lead and inspire nursing staff in delivering exceptional, safe, and high-quality patient care within a telemetry unit. This leadership role requires a compassionate individual who excels as a mentor, resource, and advocate, ensuring regulatory compliance and fostering a positive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe, clean, and infection-controlled environment in the unit.
• Engage with patients and families to uphold service excellence and address concerns promptly.
• Communicate professionally and effectively, resolving conflicts as they arise.
• Participate actively in nursing policy development and promote evidence-based practices.
• Ensure accountability for quality, operational, financial, and regulatory goals within the unit.
• Advocate for patients by coordinating care across healthcare disciplines and supporting integrated services.
• Collaborate with departments to optimize workflow and patient throughput.
• Assist in recruitment, selection, and retention of nursing personnel.
• Manage staffing schedules, ensuring appropriate personnel utilization based on competencies and patient needs.
• Lead or participate in quality improvement projects and attend relevant committees.
• Evaluate staff performance, provide coaching, and conduct appraisals.
• Contribute to budget development and monitor productivity standards.
• Promote a healthy work environment that minimizes occupational illness and injury.
• Demonstrate accountability for personal professional growth and development.
• Perform administrative supervisory duties as needed, including pronouncing expired patients.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of registered nursing experience, including at least two years in acute care or a similar setting.
• At least one year of recent charge nurse or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of nursing scope of practice, nursing process, and individualized care planning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively to seek resources and solve problems.
• Competent in assessing nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
• Proficient with computer systems and adaptable to new software.
• Capable of providing direct patient care.

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with seven years of RN experience may be considered.

Licenses and Certifications

• Current RN licensure in the state is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
• National certification in specialty area is preferred.
• Additional certifications required depending on unit assignment, such as ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, PALS, ONS chemotherapy & biotherapy provider, and others as applicable.
