Press Assistant

Shift: 7:00 AM-7:00 PM Hourly Rate: $26.25 an hour Scheduled to work 12-hour shifts from 7am - 7pm every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, off Monday and Tuesday and every other Wednesday, which is a 2-week pattern of 2 days on, 2 days off, 5 days on, 5 days off. Only scheduled to work 15 days every month, but with built-in overtime pay! Position Summary: Assist press operator with printing press operations and related equipment to meet all safety, quality and production standards. You will report to the Cell Lead and will receive work direction from the Shift Lead and Press Operator onsite in our Maple Grove facility. Position Responsibilities: Responsible for Food Safety & Quality. You are a role model for safety and encourage fellow employees to work safely. Must complete monthly safety, engagement and training activities and be willing to work in a culture built around continuous improvement and change. You are a mentor to upskill and train new and developing employees. You will remove completed rolls from rewind. You will need to push paper roll carts into loading position at press. You will assist the operator in preventative maintenance of equipment expectations. Support the operator to maintain the press and all related equipment which may include adjusting ink color, ink and glue viscosity and levels, web the press, to meet safety, quality, 5S, production and shift-end expectations. Visually inspect product (printed roll stock and roll formation) at rewind station to assure quality standards for color, registration, patches, print and moisture levels. Assist in root cause analysis to aid Press Operator in resolving problems. Enter information into SAP computer system. Check written descriptions of paper rolls and other raw materials to ensure correct material supply at the unwind stands and prepare for splicing. Maintain written production and inventory usage records. Other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications/ Education/Experience: High School diploma or GED Interpret common internal reports and supporting documents. Able to lift and carry up to 45 - 55 pounds routinely. Climb ladders, reach, and stand frequently.
