Business Data Analyst

Our client is looking Business Data Analyst for Long term project in Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid) Below is the detail requirement.
Job Title: Business Data AnalystLocation: Phoenix, AZ (Hybrid) Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Business Data Analyst with expertise in Azure cloud technologies, SQL, and data analytics to support business and technology initiatives. The ideal candidate will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating business requirements into data solutions and technical mapping documents.
Experience in the banking domain is highly preferred. Key Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements from stakeholders
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and data mapping documents
- Act as a liaison between business users, data engineers, and IT teams
- Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction, validation, and analysis
- Work with Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, and related cloud platforms
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports
- Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights
- Create field-level data mapping documents including transformations and business rules
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and governance standards are maintained
- Support data integration and ETL processes (good to have: Informatica)
- Participate in UAT testing and validation of data pipelines and reports
- Strong experience in SQL (data querying, joins, aggregations, optimization)
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Lake and Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience in Power BI for dashboards and visualization
- Strong understanding of data analysis and reporting concepts
- Ability to create Data Mapping / Technical Specification documents
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proven ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience working in banking or financial services domain
- Knowledge of Informatica (ETL tools)
- Experience with data warehousing concepts
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality practices
- Basic understanding of Python or scripting (optional)
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in Business/Data Analysis
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work cross-functionally
- Effective communication and presentation skills
- Business and technical acumen
