Energy Management Systems Technician

Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking an Energy Management Systems Technician in Buffalo, NY to install, program, and maintain EMS controls for commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems.

Impact
- Optimize energy usage across commercial facilities through precise system monitoring and control
- Reduce operating costs for customers by ensuring EMS systems function at peak efficiency
- Prevent equipment failures through proactive maintenance and troubleshooting
- Support sustainability goals with effective energy management solutions

Responsibilities
- Install and program energy management systems for refrigeration and HVAC applications
- Troubleshoot EMS hardware and software issues across commercial facilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on energy management control systems
- Monitor system performance and implement optimization strategies
- Configure control sequences for optimal energy efficiency
- Train facility staff on EMS operation and basic troubleshooting
- Generate reports on energy consumption and system performance
- Coordinate with project managers and customers on installation schedules

Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of experience with energy management systems or building automation controls
- Strong understanding of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems
- Proficiency with EMS programming and software platforms
- Electrical troubleshooting skills and ability to read control diagrams
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record

Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with specific EMS platforms such as Emerson, Danfoss, or similar
- EPA Universal certification
- Associate degree in HVAC, electrical, or related technical field
- OSHA 10 certification
