Co-Manager

Assists store manager in ensuring that the store operates at the standards set forth by the company. Operates a store that provides positive earnings for the company. Directly supervise sales workers in store. Duties may include management functions, such as purchasing, budgeting, accounting, and personnel work, in addition to supervisory duties. Also directs effective safety, security and sanitation programs in compliance with company policy and procedure. Provides supportive leadership to all store employees.

Essential functions include providing customer service, monitoring sales activities, assigning employees to specific duties, directing and supervising employees engaged in sales, inventory-taking, reconciling cash receipts, or in performing services for customers, keeping records of purchases, sales, and requisitions, enforcing safety, health, and security rules, examining products purchased for resale or received for storage to assess the condition of each product or item, recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating personnel performance, demoting, promoting and terminating store employees when necessary, assuring all employees know, understand and follow company policies and standards, constantly measuring performance, evaluating and taking corrective action, instructing staff on how to handle difficult and complicated sales, assuring productivity of employees through example and leadership, achieving sales and profit objectives through example and leadership, examining merchandise to ensure that it is correctly priced, displayed and that it functions as advertised, achieving maximum productivity by planning, developing and maintaining work schedules, records of employees' work schedules, timecards and all other necessary records, organizing, calculating and accurately entering daily sales information and sent to the corporate office, maintaining constant up to date knowledge of local competition, conferring with company officials to develop methods and procedures to increase sales, expand markets, and promote business, controlling store expenses, planning budgets and authorizing payments and merchandise returns, providing adequate supervision to reduce loss due to theft, staying familiar with all memos, maintaining and preserving company property, preventing overstocks and/or out of stocks through correct product ordering, developing favorable customer image through cleanliness, attractiveness and employee conduct by providing necessary supervision, reviewing and monitoring all scheduled shift hours, abiding by all city, county, state and federal regulations, assisting in all areas that need attention or assigning a person to complete the task, recording all sales at the time of purchase, accurately recording all markups, markdowns, spoilage and store use of merchandise according to company policy, verifying all money from the previous day and calculating the daily deposit and sign off on office count, maintaining bad check log to ensure recovery of the money lost due to the returned checks, preparing end of the week reports accurately or insure that they are done by trained employees, properly recording all hours worked on the computer, timecard report and signing the time ticket report verifying all hours worked, totaling time ticket report accurately to insure employees are paid correctly, verifying and closing out payroll, seeing that all new employees on each shift are trained, maintaining warning notices to reflect a continuous performance record of all employees, advising supervisor of any personnel situations or policy violations having a negative effect on store operations, checking all equipment for proper working conditions, responsible for controlling payroll within budget guidelines, enforcing correct vendor check-in procedures, within company guidelines and as instructed by supervisor, always keeping safe locked, following company policy by maintaining a low cash drawer and utilizing the safe, as instructed by supervisor, responsible for opening and closing the store, completing shift-checkout report at appropriate times as instructed by supervisor, notifying supervisor immediately if the bank deposit is not made on a daily basis, sharing the responsibility for controlling the inventory in the store, ordering and maintaining merchandise to prevent out of stocks, building and maintaining displays that are sellable, preparing and maintaining perishable foods according to company standards and as instructed by supervisor, maintaining coolers, shelves and displays by keeping them full and fronted at all times, properly cleaning and maintaining store equipment, performing other job-related tasks as requested by the management staff, observing management schedule by opening and closing the store on time, other job-related tasks as required.

Position qualifications include accountability, adaptability, autonomy, communication, oral, creative, customer oriented, detail oriented, energetic, enthusiastic, friendly, motivation, organized, patience, presentation skills, reliability, self-motivated, time management, working under pressure.

Education: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).

Experience: One to two years of related experience.
