Material Handler

The Material Handler works in a manufacturing production environment and ensures that materials and finished products move efficiently through the facility. This role supports production by bringing product to the lines, staging orders for shipment, and packaging hoses according to customer specifications. The Material Handler uses printed tickets, floor maps, and RF scanners to verify accuracy and prepare orders for same-day or next-day shipping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver materials and product to production lines so machine operators can begin orders on time.
• Stage orders for same-day and next-day shipments in the correct customer-specific areas.
• Pull finished hoses from carts and place them in the appropriate customer staging locations using floor maps and shipping tags.
• Package hoses according to order requirements using the correct packaging, including boxes, stand-up hanging systems, and kitting boxes.
• Bundle or hang hoses for shipment as specified by customer requests.
• Work from printed tickets to check and verify that orders are accurate and complete.
• Use RF scanners as required to scan products, verify labels, and confirm order accuracy.
• Read and interpret labels, pick tickets, pick orders, and pick sheets to ensure correct items are selected and prepared.
• Stage products in client-specific spots and packaging to prepare them for shipment.
• Assist with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading trucks as needed.
• Support production and shipping operations by handling materials safely and efficiently throughout the facility.

Essential Skills

• At least 3 months of experience working in a warehouse handling materials for shipping.
• Experience packing products for shipments, including reading labels, checking for accuracy, and scanning items.
• Ability to use RF scanners to verify and track orders.
• Familiarity with material handling, order staging, and packing processes.
• Experience supporting shipping and receiving, including loading and unloading activities.
• Ability to read and follow pick tickets, pick orders, and pick sheets.
• Comfort working in a production and manufacturing environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Sit-down forklift experience is a plus, and training is available for the right candidate.
• Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
• Experience in production environments and material flow.
• Ability to work effectively with a team in a fast-paced warehouse setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing production facility on a first shift schedule, typically 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The environment is clean for a production setting but is not climate controlled. You will work with a team of approximately 30 people in a culture where employees are valued and treated with respect. Work involves using RF scanners and standard warehouse equipment, with potential training on sit-down forklifts.

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
