Multi-Office - Labor and Employment Midlevel Associate

Overview Seeking a highly qualified associate with three to four years of law firm experience to join the labor and employment practice group. This position will be dedicated to the firm's OSHA practice and offers the opportunity to work with clients across a broad range of industries on complex workplace safety, health, and regulatory matters. This position may reside in any Morgan Lewis office, with a preference for candidates located in California, Seattle, Chicago, Houston, or Washington, DC. Qualifications The successful applicant must have meaningful experience in labor and employment law, preferably gained at a law firm, have substantive experience advising clients on workplace safety and health matters, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance, inspections, investigations, citations, enforcement actions, and related counseling, have experience representing employers in interactions with OSHA and other workplace safety agencies, including responding to government inquiries, conducting internal investigations, developing compliance strategies, and managing enforcement proceedings, have experience with employment litigation and/or counseling, have excellent academic credentials as well as strong research, writing, organization, and analytical skills, and be licensed and in good standing in the jurisdiction in which the candidate is seeking to practice, or be eligible to obtain admission promptly. Compensation and Benefits For applicants in CA, IL, WA, or Washington, DC the salary wage range for this position is $235,000 to $365,000. For Massachusetts: It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. An employer who violates this law shall be subject to criminal penalties and civil liability. For CA, IL, MA, NJ, or Washington, DC: The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. Final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the firm reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, firm or individual department/team performance, and market factors. For Washington State: The base salary wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The foregoing salary range applies only to the specific available position advertised herein. The total compensation package for this position will also include eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus. Subject to the terms and conditions of the firm's policy, applicants who receive an offer immediately following the completion of a judicial clerkship will be eligible for a clerkship bonus. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in: a 401(k) plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, life, disability, accidental death and dismemberment, business travel accident insurance plans, and health savings and flexible spending accounts for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans and policies then in effect, eligible employees may utilize the Employee Assistance Program, Work/Life Services, HealthAdvocate, Bright Horizons Back-Up Child Care, and WageWorks Commuter Benefits for the employee and the employee's eligible dependents. Employees will also receive: 9 paid holidays per calendar year, 2 personal days per year, up to 10 days of paid sick leave per year, and up to 20 days of vacation per year. Eligible employees may also take up to five days off for bereavement leave, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave per year and up to 10 weeks of paid pregnancy disability leave per pregnancy. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
